Story One
I think my ability to speak Spanish with students helps all my students feel a little more empowered to be themselves and ask/answer questions in their own words. We have focused on this and do well. Greeting students in the halls, asking questions, getting to know them, paying attention to all students not just the vocal ones. |
Story Two
Outputs with high quality are displayed in most classrooms, differentiated instruction for all students, support programs are available for students who need it (RtI, SPED, ELL, alternative school), teachers are supervising students before bell and during lunch to ensure safety students are willing to help translate when needed to include non-English speakers. We are welcoming students and making contact with them first thing as they are coming into the school. |
Story 3
I believe all teachers in our school truly care for our students. We also have many activities for students, so each student has something they can participate in. Staff meeting updates about special populations brings awareness to the whole staff and allows for opportunities to problem-solve about including all students in all activities. Additionally, bringing back the Colorado Inclusion Project presenters demonstrates a desire to grow in this area. Teachers are trying to hold everything together, but there is so much being put on their plates. yes, we have a wonderful sunshine committee. Teachers building personal relationships with students. |
