Story One
I think we have begun the process with all stakeholders but it still needs a lot of work to make those engagement efforts more effective. We have the website and Facebook as well as the newspaper. If someone wants to be informed there are many ways that they could be. I think we are moving in the right direction with the home grown initiative and things. Stakeholders are very involved in athletics and clubs, but maybe we could find more ways to engage then in academics. |
Story Two
The Holyoke Enterprise We try and bring in or go out into the community a lot. We also have a really good relationship with the newspaper to communicate with the community. We engage with the community members often. From community service projects to guest speakers. I think parents are the stakeholders we need to engage more with. |
Story 3
We have grown in terms of partnering with Trisha Herman and the resources she has. Several educators are bringing in outside experts to support students in the classroom. The homegrown initiative provides a lot of promise to grow in this area. I see the same people and parents. The community/ businesses need to be "tapped" into for more community involvement in academics. What are bosses looking for in employees? What skills do kids need outside of these walls? we spend a lot of time on this Homegrown thing but could involve more parents at the HS I see good examples of partnering throughout the school. |
